Peter Park

Chief Operating Officer – Renaissance Capital

Chief Executive Officer – RCI Investment Management Inc.

Mr. Park is responsible for all the treasury and banking functions at the company. He has 15 years of experience in the investment field, most recently as Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager at an investment management firm where he was responsible for the fixed income department that managed more than $6 billion in assets for institutional and high net worth accounts.

Previously, Mr. Park worked at a large Canadian insurance company as part of a team responsible for managing multi-billion dollar fixed income assets. He has experience in managing both U.S. and Canadian bond portfolios. Mr. Park is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Arthur Chan

CGA, CFA, CPA (US)

Chief Financial Officer for RCI Capital Group

Mr. Chan is Chief Financial Officer for RCI Capital Group. He has over 6 years of experience in the investment management industry as the senior financial officer in a private investment management company (over C$15 billion under management in 2006) which was later acquired by a large public financial institution. Prior to that, Mr. Chan held senior financial positions in a variety of industries including manufacturing, e-commerce and retail. Mr. Chan was previously the Group Controller at RCI Capital Group between 1998 and 2000.

Mr. Chan is a graduate of the University of British Columbia with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) and holds the following designations: Certified General Accountant (CGA) in Canada, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the United States.

Larry Liang

Managing Director (China) – RCI Capital Group

Mr. Liang is an experienced executive with expertise in cross-border private capital, mergers and acquisitions, and international trade. Recently, he served on the Board of Directors and as President of Liberty Star Uranium and Metals Corp., a U.S. publicly-traded natural resource company, overseeing the company’s legal affairs and business development.

Mr. Liang was the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Invest U.S. Regional Center, a federally designated EB-5 visa investment fund in the U.S. that has brought significant foreign capital investment into the U.S. Mr. Liang has been a frequent speaker at U.S. foreign direct investment national trade shows and seminars.

Born in China, Mr. Liang attended the Southwest University of Political Science and Law in Chong Qing, China where he received an L.L.B. in International Economic Law, followed by a Master of Laws in International Trade Law from the University of Arizona’s James E. Rogers College of Law.

Shinji Satake

Managing Director, Japan

Based in RCI’s Tokyo office, Mr. Satake oversees RCI’s Japan related corporate strategy, M&A and investment banking efforts. In addition, Mr. Satake focuses on building client relationships within the Japan market. Mr. Satake has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry with a specific focus in the resource industry.

Prior to joining RCI, Mr. Satake was a key member of the resource business team of Sumitomo Corporation. During this time, Mr. Satake was based in Denver, Colorado and oversaw management of Sumitomo’s North and South American mineral resource portfolios including the Morenci Mine, the Pogo Mine, the Candelaria Mine, Ojos del Salado and the San Cristobal Mine. Mr. Satake began his career based in Tokyo with the Marubeni Corporation, where he began as Analyst in the Non-Ferrous Metals division and was eventually promoted to Manager. Mr. Satake holds an Bachelor of Economics degree from Kobe University.

Rodney Stevens, CFA

Senior Analyst

Mr. Stevens is a CFA charter holder with over ten years of work experience, first as an Investment Analyst with Salman Partners Inc., then as a merchant banker.

While at Salman Partners, Mr. Stevens became a top-rated analyst by StarMine on July 17, 2007 for the metals and mining industry based on the historical profitability of stock recommendations and the historical accuracy of earnings estimates, generating an excess return of 7.9 percent over the corresponding industry benchmark and receiving a four-out-of-five star rating for earnings accuracy.

During this time, Mr. Stevens was instrumental in assisting in financings and M&A activity worth over $1 billion in transaction value.

Paul O’Brien

VP, Investment Banking

Mr. O’Brien has more than seven years of experience in gold equity research covering developing companies to senior producers as well as precious metals forecasting, during which time he was ranked in the top five of Wall Street Journal’s “Best on the Street Analyst Survey” for North American Mining Analysts two years in a row. His prior corporate advisory and investment banking experience includes eleven years primarily focused on mining, while gaining global mining markets experience in Canada and Australia as a member of bank-owned capital markets groups.

Most recently, Mr. O’Brien was a Partner at Gryphon Partners, a mining-focused corporate advisory and M&A firm that was acquired by Standard Chartered Bank (UK) before becoming VP Corporate Development for a copper developer. Mr. O’Brien received his B. Comm. from McMaster University and is a CFA Charterholder.

Andrew Shannon

Director, Investment Banking

Mr. Shannon brings a blend of finance and technical skillsets to the M&A group at RCI. He comes from a technical mining background with experience as a Geologist working for junior explorers and major mining companies including; Teck Resources Ltd., Miramar Mining Corp., Equity Exploration Ltd., Falconbridge Ltd. and Placer Dome Inc.. Through these roles he has gained a comprehensive understanding of the mining process after having worked on a range of projects from early stage exploration to mine operations.

Mr. Shannon attended the University of Waterloo where he received a BSc.(Hon) in Geology. He continued to focus on Geology at the University of British Columbia where he achieved a MSc. for his research on the Hope Bay Gold District in Nunavut. He also holds a MBA from Ivey Business School at Western University and is a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists in British Columbia (APEG BC). He is also a 2017 Level III Candidate in the CFA Program.

Edward Nam-Hyuk Park

Associate Director, Corporate Development and Advisory

Mr. Park has more than 13 years of experience in a corporate advisory role focusing on corporate strategy and M&A advisory for various conglomerates and public enterprises in Korea as well as multinational companies. Prior to joining RCI, he worked for Deloitte Korea leading various cross border projects including Incheon International Airport Corporation’s first equity investment transaction. He has also accumulated extensive experience in serving local and foreign clients in various sectors including the automotive industry sector and consumer products industry. During his tenure at Deloitte Korea, he also participated as a team manager in Deloitte Korea’s business planning office.

Prior to joining Deloitte Korea, Mr. Park was a manager at Investus Global Corporation, a corporate advisory consulting firm founded by partners from world leading financial advisory firms such as Arthur Andersen and PWC in Korea. Mr. Park is a graduate of the Carleton University with a Bachelor Degree in Economics.

Alex Chen

Associate Director, Corporate Development and Advisory

Mr. Chen has over 15 years of experience in various sectors in both Canada and China. He has diversified background in mining, energy, engineering, project management, information technology and e-commence. He has previously worked with China based state owned enterprises, government agencies, private firms and large Canadian International firms. Prior to joining RCI, Mr. Chen worked for Rio Tinto as an Engineer based in Kitimat, BC. Prior to joining Rio Tinto, Mr. Chen worked as an Advisor to the Ministry of Transportations & Infrastructure of British Columbia, Worley Parson.

Mr. Chen attended the Hunan University in Changsha, China where he received B.Sc in Civil Engineering and Computer Science Engineering(double major), followed by a Master’s of Engineering from University of British Columbia.

Kenny Kang

Manager, Investment Banking

Mr. Kang joined RCI Capital in 2002 following his MBA and has specialized in institutional, private equity and HNW capital formation. Mr. Kang leads a team from RCI’s Shanghai office where he has been instrumental in raising over $350M. Mr. Kang works with and reports to RCI Capital, China Managing Director Larry Liang in our Beijing office.

Mr. Kang is a graduate of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics where he received his B.Sc. in Finance, followed by a MBA from the University of British Columbia.
